Spinning Yarn|Maria WilliamsFor those visiting Venice Lido Island is a popular place to stay. Only 20 mins. by water-bus from St. Marks the money you'll save by staying at a hotel on Lido will outweigh the hassle of having to travel in and out of Venice by boat. Lido hosts the famous Venetian Film Festival every September. The bull in the photo was caught by Maria Williams, wife of Tony. She was still there at last report, enjoying the lovely beaches!!!

Spinning Yarn| Tony WilliamsPicture this if you will. It is a balmy evening in Santorini, Greece - after a beautiful day visiting the sites what better way to finish the day than a romantic dinner at the Volcano Restaurant in nearby Perissa Beach (a 2-euro, 20 min. bus ride from downtown Fira). It's 10.30 pm by the time we finish, on a Sunday night, and my wife starts to panic - what if there are no buses back into town??? Whilst waiting at the bus stop I came across a sign for Tony's Art Gallery offering 50% off. This light-hearted moment took the 'heat' off for a few minutes ....and then the local bus duly arrived to take us home.  The joys of travel!                                                      Tony Williams - Jetset Blackburn

Spinning Yarn | Joanne's VeniceThis photo was taken in the year of ultimate sacrifice and the year the miracle of new love was found, in one of my favourite cities in the world - Florence, Italy. I can still feel the heat on my skin, the rich food smells in the air and the taste of cold gelato on my tongue. La Dolce Vita.

Spinning Yarn|Polar Bird

On my dream flight to Antarctica, we saw the ship Polar Bird, stuck in the ice, somewhere off Casey Base, on Boxing day Dec 2000 till January 2001. It should only take 7 days from Hobart to Casey. The Casey Manager was also stuck on the boat, because the helicopter was damaged. No one can walk off the boat because the ice is too mushy.   Faye Poke, Tamar Valley Spinners
